Em caso positivo, essa ingestão requer um cuidado duplo, visto que, inicialmente, causam uma hiperglicemia e depois podem gerar uma hipoglicemia como rebote.

A Dra Silvia orienta a não ultrapassar duas latas de cerveja, duas taças de vinho ou uma dose de bebida destilada. No caso de refrigerantes e bebidas açucaradas, moderação é fundamental. Ela recomenda também “tomar água ao longo do dia e, nos momentos de folia, intercalar com a bebida se for fazer o uso”.

Avalie sua glicemia periodicamente: Ao considerar possível consumo de álcool associado a atividade física (como dançar e pular), é importante levar um glicosímetro e fazer a medida da glicemia capilar com frequência.

Alimente-se regularmente: “Outra dica é manter a frequência da alimentação em relação aos horários. Se está acostumado a comer a cada três horas, mantenha. Fazer um lanche em casa evita que façamos escolhas que podem alterar demais a glicemia. Mas é importante levar um lanche ou fazer escolhas que possam ajudar neste equilíbrio quando há a ingestão da bebida alcoólica – como frutas, barra de cereais, castanhas, picolé de frutas ou sanduiches, por exemplo”, explica a nutricionista da Sociedade Brasileira de Diabetes.

Hidrate-se: A desidratação pode aumentar a glicemia. Então, para que a folia seja completa, é indicado reforçar o consumo de água, também em função do calor e perda de líquidos por meio do suor.

O que fazer em caso de mal estar: Se durante os festejos ocorrer algum mal estar, a primeira medida é medir a glicemia capilar. De acordo com os valores obtidos, a especialista a orienta:

Hipoglicemia (menor que 70mg/dL): fazer correção com açúcar, refrigerante normal, balas, suco de frutas nas quantidades indicadas para cada pessoa. Após 15 minutos, verificar se a sua glicemia voltou ao normal. Em caso positivo, fazer um pequeno lanche e voltar a aproveitar a festa. “Mas, atenção, meça com maior frequência a glicemia capilar”.

Hiperglicemia (maior que 180mg/dL ou de acordo com orientação médica): descansar um pouco e hidratar-se com água é uma boa solução. Além disso, para aqueles que fazem uso da insulina rápida ou ultrarrápida pode ser feita a correção.
